GRAND RAPIDS, MI — Start Garden, an organization that supports entrepreneurship in West Michigan, has opened registration for a competition where startup businesses can compete for $300,000 in prizes.
The event, known as The 100, provides an opportunity for businesses to submit a 100 second video explaining their idea. Start Garden will then, by July, choose 100 finalists who receive $1,000 each to refine their ideas and, in September, present their idea to Start Garden. Ten winners will then be selected to receive $20,000 for their businesses.
“When we designed the Start Garden 100, our goal was to make it a genuine opportunity for anyone from any neighborhood in Michigan,” Paul Moore, co-director at Start Garden, said in a news release. “Not to mention, it’s literally the easiest $1,000 an entrepreneur can get to play with an idea.”
